Retrofit Services
Eprotech retrofits EPS processing equipment from all major manufacturers. Our engineering team has completed retrofit projects across 25+ countries, working on pre-expanders, block molding machines, cutting lines, shape molding systems, and full production lines.
Controls Modernization
Replace outdated PLCs and relay logic with current PLC/HMI systems. Add touchscreen operator interfaces, digital parameter storage, and remote monitoring capability. Controls modernization is typically the highest-return upgrade for older machines, improving consistency, reducing operator error, and enabling data collection across the production line.
Sensor and Instrumentation Integration
Add temperature sensors, pressure transducers, level controllers, and density measurement systems. Better instrumentation means tighter process control, fewer off-spec batches, and the data foundation for ongoing optimization.
Capacity Expansion
Increase throughput by upgrading drive systems, adding parallel processing stages, or reconfiguring material flow. Examples: adding a second block mold to an existing line, upgrading a pre-expander to a higher-capacity model, or adding automated handling to remove manual bottlenecks.
Partial Rebuilds
Replace worn mechanical components (hydraulic systems, steam valves, vacuum systems, wire mechanisms) while keeping the machine frame and structure. This restores production performance to original specifications and extends equipment life by years.
Complete Refurbishment
Full mechanical and electrical rebuild. Strip, inspect, repair or replace every wearing component, upgrade controls, and recommission. The machine returns to service with current technology and a fresh operational baseline.
Process Additions
Add capabilities to an existing line: scrap recovery systems, automated packaging, additional cutting stations, or shape molding alongside an existing block molding operation.
