Purpose
Density consistency is one of the most important quality parameters in EPS production. Variations in raw material batch properties, ambient conditions, and steam supply can cause output density to drift from the target, leading to off-spec product, wasted material, and downstream quality issues.
The automatic density controller eliminates this problem by measuring output density after each cycle and adjusting pre-expansion parameters in real time.
How It Works
After each batch of expanded beads is produced, the controller automatically samples material from the dryer. The sample is analyzed using a fixed-volume weighing process: a known volume of beads is weighed, and the density is calculated.
If the measured density deviates from the target, the controller adjusts the material loading weight for the next cycle. This creates a closed feedback loop that keeps output density within tight tolerance across extended production runs.
Data and Reporting
The controller displays real-time density data on screen, allowing operators to monitor production quality at a glance. Full production reports can be saved electronically or printed for quality documentation and traceability.
